FOUNDATION: It was created on February 12, 1821.Its name came fron The Liberator Don Jose de San Martin.
AREA: 25,962 km2.
CAPITAL: Trujillo.
LOCATION: La Libertad is located at coast North of Perú.
WEATHER: Annual Average temperature 19ºC (máx 30º C - Mín 16º C).
DRIZZLE SEASON: June to August.

Relief:

  • About 25% of the territory is formed by coast desert.
  • The west mountain range and the west side of ther central mountain range form the rest of the territory.
